George A Koteen - Founder

George Koteen graduated from New Utrecht High School (Brooklyn NY). In the late 1940's and early 1950's George worked in sales for a local utility consulting company. He then took a Vice Presidents position at a large utility auditing firm. While there, he began to dislike the lack of personal contact he saw with the clients.

In 1953, he established George A. Koteen Associates, Inc. a company founded on personal touch in dealing with clients. His wife Margaret by his side worked as secretary during the beginning years of the firm's existence. George was always traveling and wanted to be involved personally as much as possible. He did not want clients to be just paperwork in a filing cabinet; he wanted them to be a name and a face. This resulted in the signing of many well-known national corporations and propelled Koteen Associates to one of the elite firms in the industry.

George was also very active in his community, sponsoring local youth sports teams. He was treasurer for the local Boy Scouts. His many years of service earned him the "Silver Beaver". George Koteen passed in 1975. His wife a few years earlier. They are both dearly missed. Their strong work ethic, integrity and personal involvement with the clients can still be found today throughout all Koteen Associates' employees.
